I live in Conneautville PA. Close to Meadville and about 2 hours N of Pittsburg. I'm posting this to hopefully help others become aware of this dangerous method of collecting water. It doesn't only affect the person that signs the paper for the money to allow this to happen but also ALL the neighbors around them. Even if those neighbors didn't sign up for fracking on their own land. These videos are a definite eye opener!
A dear friend of ours is working hard to gather information about Fracking and ways to try and stop it from coming to our town.
What does fracking have to do with DG? The water on one's property that becomes contaminated with the methane gas/radium is not only not for human consumption anymore, but for all surrounding animal life and PLANT life. Everything that depends on the surrounding water cisterns to keep them healthy. If you have beautiful gardens that you slave over every year and fracking comes your way and if your neighbor signs the paperwork and you didn't, you will most likely lose your beautiful garden. The methane gas/radium caused by fracking will ruin your water. Period. You can't drink it. Cook with it. Bathe/shower with it. But, You CAN light a match from the methane gas eminating from your faucet! You won't be able to sell your home because it will be unsellable. Once the methane gas/radium is in your water supply, it also goes into the your land. Slowly destroying vegetation. Animal stock won't be able to stay either. If you choose to stay, you will have to pay through the nose to have water brought in have to have enough water on hand for every day use. I know we are going to be fighting VERY hard to keep this out of our town.
This Fracking is very destructive in that it puts methane gas into the ground water cisterns. It also may put radium as well. The 'Marcellus Shale Reality Tour' are videos of people that regret allowing these companies to use their land for Fracking. The first link tells you what Fracking is. The video can explain it better than I can.

Sorry, just really upset this is coming our way. :(
I do hope this is posted in the correct place. If not, please move it where it could be of good use and information.
Is Fracking coming your way?
As I was sitting out front of our house with our dog, I noticed trucks going and coming on the road. I also saw some of these trucks that said 'brine' and Ohio on the side. Remember what I had heard and seen on the videos I posted that something was up. There is fracking going on up our road! I called my friend and told him what I had seen and he said that yes, there is fracking going on in, I forgot what town he said it is in. He also told me it is also what caused a level 4-5 earthquake a couple months ago. It is really closer than I had imagined! It is really scary. Now, instead of just having a good life in our newly purchased home, we are now having to worry about our water. Our health at risk with fracking up the road.
I hope people who read this really take it to heart. People may make some money signing up for fracking but it won't compare to the damage it will cause to their property/health and the surrounding areas.
PLEASE, PLEASE, be aware of what this means to the community that you live in and surround you. DON'T let fracking into YOUR neighborhood!
Oh, I also wanted to comment that the fracking requires brine to dig wells. And, since PA doesn't allow the brine to be dumped in PA it is shipped to Ohio to be 'dumped'. So, it not only affects those of us in PA, but surrounding states as well in some way or other. Everyone everywhere should watch these videos. Plus, the companies that do the fracking don't tell the WHOLE story and consequences when approaching property owners about leasing their land. It is VERY important that everyone researches this fracking business to the max to be the most informed before signing any papers with these companies.
Yes, I know. I seem to be on a soap box about this. But, I don't mind. It is something that is VERY important to everyone. So, I don't mind sharing what I know so far.. :)

NY allowing fracking.
Our Gov. Cuomo is due to "lift the ban" and allow fracking on September 5th.
I really feel for you, pirl!
I'll have to check the fracking map and see where they're doing this.
The nursery business is the leading industry of New York. I can't imagine they'd risk it for fracking.
Money talks. Flowers don't. :(
A couple good videos on Fracking:

This one makes me laugh!

And NO country is immune from this fracking spreading to them as well!
Fracking is nothing new..... been going on for over 50 years..... no matter what you do anywhere you will be able to find some problem somewhere if you look hard enough.
