My friend was at Walker Lake this week (which is near Hawthorne, NV - around 2 hours from Carson City, NV) and she took this photo for me because I love spiders. If you zoom in you can see the details better. It looks like it could be a kind of Argiope to me but I was curious if it is, and what species it is. Someone else I asked online says might be a silver argiope but I don't know.

Yes, there is a second spider to the left. I didn't even notice that one until I posted the photo. :) I was distracted by the other one, lol. I had to zoom way in to really get a good look at the one in the middle. I think my friend was too chicken to get any closer. ;) If I ever actually have time, I'd like to visit the area and get some of my own photos of these.
