I couldn't find any place to post this picture & ask for help in identifying this chameleon (??).
I only see this chameleon (??) at night. I live in Central FL.
Thanks for any help in identifying : )
CLOSED: chameleon in Central Florida
I think it's a Gecko, not a Chameleon. Try starting there.
The closest I can find is the Mediterranean Gecko.
Thank you for your help kwanjin - The Mediterranean Gecko looks VERY close to the ones I see at night : )
Indo-Pacific or House Gecko, the most common Gecko in Florida. smooth skin as opposed to the bumpy skin of the Mediterranean Gecko. they are all self-fertilizing females. Hemidactylus garnoti
It's hard to tell smooth from bumpy online. My computer isn't that advanced yet. ;-)
mine either! was just supplying more info for beejay. since we are practically neighbors, and the House Gecko is the one i see, i was concluding it was probably this one...but ya never know. even living in the keys for many years before moving up here, i've never seen the bumpy one. ^_^
Maybe, someday, I'll get a touch-screen you can feel soft/rough, smooth/bumpy, hot/cold, still/moving... Whomever does THAT will be an instant billionaire. ^_^
i'm sure someone is working on it as we sit here and dream.......
