Does anyone have a clue what may be in here? It's large about the size of a marshmellow. It;s squishy, not hard. It came out of a tree. During the last storm a branch came down and this was attached to it. My kids have it in a bug catcher and are waiting for it to hatch.
Need help identifying egg sac or cocoon
Looks like a cocoon of one of the giant silk moths in the family Saturniidae.
