Diane,
That dealer is full of more than fish poop.
Hope your other fish don't get sick. As Carolyn suggested-I have used salt baths very often with good results.

Question on dead koi
And one of the small koi I got from him just died tonight. The pp treatments are going well. I hope this is the end of the fish deaths. At least he gave us pp for free...
Good luck I know how discouraging fish deaths can be.

I am so sorry - glad to hear the pp treatments are going well though.
There is a pet store that isn't that far from me and he goes to NJ every Tuesday for koi. I have thought I am better off going to him and quarantining the fish. Perhaps there is such a store in your area?
No, there aren't a lot of koi dealers in the area. I did get some from an upscale Albany pond store a few years ago. I still quarantined then, and discovered they were covered in fish lice. I just don't think there are any dealers you can trust.
Diane
I do agree with you. I told DH, if we decided to retire and start a koi farm, and ran an honest business, we would be rich, because it would be such a novel thing.
Carolyn
Want an investor? lol
Good idea....
Glad I have never run into these unscrupulus people. Guess I had better stick to the small koi farm I found just an hr. away from me. I'm waiting for them to get a blue butterfly OR MerryMary to breed one and I would gladly buy from her. MERRYMARY THATS A HINT.
Bonnie
Hint well taken.... ;) I actually think I may have a small one for you!
MARY THAT WOULD MAKE MY YEAR NEVER MIND DAY.
TAKE CARE,
BONNIE
:) Give me a few days...school just got back in, it's been a busy busy week!
Hoping you'd like to take some tadpoles and frogs home with you also. I am overloaded.
Bonnie
Yes indeedy! I need green tree frogs!! :)
