Is it a moth? Pink? can you ID?

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

It was sitting on one of my plumies and was very calm, letting me photograph it. I have never seen anything like it. From end to end it was about 1/2" long. Thanks for your help.

PS: pls tell me it is a garden friend, it is much too beautiful to be a foe.

Yep, that's it. A painted schinia volupia. I tried googling and couldn't find much on it , except that it feeds on gaillardia, of which I grow none. Thanks everyone.

Send it my way. I grow lots of Gaillardia.
