Please help me identify these. I was out in the driveway today and out of the blue my son and I found ourselves in a swarm of these. Need to know what these are and if they are harmful. Any info would be great, thank you.
CLOSED: 6-legged flying insect
Winged (reproductive) ant, but cannot tell which species. Such 'swarming' behavior is normal.
Thank you so much! Thanks to your identification I know what I need to do now. Find the Ant colony.
if it isn't close to your house, i would leave them alone. ants have their place in our world. if, on the other hand, they are carpenter ants invading your house, then that is a different matter.
