I've been finding these all over the house and I just wondered what they were as I haven't seen them before. I like in the UK and we've had a LOT of ring, and now a heat wave, I thought it may be down to the weather.

They don't mind where they are, but they seem to like height. I found one crawling up my bedroom curtain and got to the top. The one in the picture was in the bathroom I had to tap it down from the top of the wall to get the picture. So they don't mind, bathroom or bedroom.
I can sometimes literally see 3 in the same area sometimes. It's a clean household we've never had these problems before, although we recently got an infestation of ants outside the house and due to a poor fitting of a wet room they got in to the wet room so the ant poison was put down.
It's an earwig, basically a harmless nuisance pest.
