Hello,
I saw this pretty spider outside. When I moved closer to get a look he/she lowered himself(or herself) to the ground and curled up for a photo. I then moved him/her to a nearby tree and took another photo.
Can anyone tell me what kind of spider it is?
Thanks
Spider Identification
She is an Orbweaver and harmless.
The ventral pattern is consistent with it being in the genus Araneus - see http://bugguide.net/node/view/72900 for an example.
I agree, but I wish we could see a clearer pic of her back.
