This very tiny insect has been flying around my Veronicastrum with his friends for a while now. I thouht they were sweet bees but I think they are Syrphid flies. Can anyone tell me if I'm right?

Keep plugging away and you'll know them by sight. I learn by my mistakes, as I'm sure we all do. I taught myself flowers the same way.
