CLOSED: Good or Bad Spider?

Tobyhanna, PA(Zone 5a)

These 2 kinds of spiders have been crawling around in my garden. To me they look alike except for color. Male and female, maybe? They are both about the same size. Anybody know what they are? Thanks :>)

These are not spiders, but are Harvestmen in the order Opiliones. I'm not sure which one specifically. Here's a link for more on Harvestmen.

When I was a kid we called these daddy long legs.

Charleston, SC

Most people where I'm from call these Daddy Longlegs as well. They also claim (incorrectly) that they are venomous enough to kill an elephant but lack the proper mouthparts to bite people. Harvestmen are non-venomous.

I try to avoid this name because it is so frequently used as a common name. Various species of spiders, crane flies, and harvestmen are also called "Daddy Longlegs'.

Thank you all for your help! Nice to know they are GOOD spiders. :>)
