I was at Deleon Springs State park in Central Florida today, and was walking the nature trail with my son when we stopped to read a sign. The sign was for a sweet gum tree. As we were looking at what we thought was dead leaves low down on the tree (it was some kind of vine) was a group of spiders or spider like insect. I wish I would have counted the legs, but I didn't. They kind of looked like beefy daddy long legs. But they were everywhere in groups of like 30 to 50,but no web just piled all over each other. Moral is my son, he is a bug fanatic so I told him I'd find out what they were. I've been all over the Internet and could not find anything, but I did find this site. So if anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated.
spider or spider like insect
Moral is a kid after my own heart. ^_^
It's possible they were nymphs or hatchlings of something. I'm assuming you didn't get a pic?
