I have a neighbor who for medical reasons, always wears a straw hat, when in the sun. She is wondering if any of you good folks know of a way to reinforce the hat and still maintain it's flexibility, the sun seems to rot them quickly and pieces start breaking /flaking off.. Thought of using spray on glue, starch from a bottle, sewing or gluing on ribbon; but none of these seem the best solution. Our brains are fried...any suggestions?
Any help, suggestions wound be appreciated. Thanks, Sue and her neighbor Betty

I found this online. It seems to have some good info.
