I've just started to get these flying around my apartment in NYC, mostly at night. They are TINY...this picture is magnified a lot. Thanks

Actually, this is a fruit fly isn't it? Whoops. I keep absolutely no garbage in the apartment, nor open food in cabinets. Why do I have so many of them?

Tiny gnats could also be fungus gnats, can live in moist plant soil or from moldy drains...?
