Beautiful creature, found on our porch near miscellaneous potted plants, cascade foothills of western oregon. Could it be an underwing moth? I see white wing tips (on forewings?), and red marks on shoulders & head. Appears somewhat snouty.

Thanks, kwanjin! Looks like a match to me!
So, Red-Shouldered Ctenucha (Ctenucha rubroscapus/multifaria species complex) it is! Mine was very easy to approach :) , unlike the one in the photograph at the link.
I guess they're like people, some you can approach and others 'run' away.
:) Yes, this one was a calm sweetie!
