CLOSED: Hairy Scary Caterpillar !

I would love help in identifying this critter. I am told that this is a stinging caterpillar and one can get a bad reaction to it. Does anyone know what this is? What will it turn into if anything?

Looks like a saltmarsh caterpillar, an extremely variable species but not a stinging one - http://entnemdept.ufl.edu/creatures/veg/leaf/saltmarsh_caterpillar.htm
