Vietnamese holyhocks

How do I save these seeds?
At what point do you remove them from main plant?
I have one large plant that is loaded with seed pods and would like to save some for whenever you are supposed to plant them next year.
I am located in central Fl. Zone 9B

Hi Bonnie,
Have the pods dried or split yet? I haven't tried these particular hollyhocks, but on ones I have grown in the past the pods will turn brown then split open when the seeds are mature.
I'd often get volunteers from seeds I missed this way!
Will be interested to see what others say; great foilage on this variety!

Yes they have dried so I cut stalk off plant. I am keeping them inside to dry completely and hope pods will open on their own. Nothing ventured nothing gained. A great Dg person mailed them to me as I couldn't find them anywhere. They bloomed so beautifully I'm hoping to plant seeds and get more plus others have asked for them.

No problem, Bonnie, I'm curious to see how they do! I have masses of regular Hollhock seeds I brought from California and forgot to plant last year (we've been giving them out at the master gardener plant clinic!). Hopefully this fall I'll get some in the ground!
