Plant Scores!!! What have you scored for your garden at a great price?

It's that time of year! Plants are starting to hit clearance racks & can be scooped up for great prices. Bulbs etc. are also marked down to up to 80% off some places. So what scores have you made for your gardens?

Last week I picked up Oxalis (iron cross shamrocks), purple & white glads at great discounts from Holland Bulb Farms. After receiving that package I went back & ordered amthyst callas & mixed freesia for containers.
Today I stopped @ Busy Beaver for a quart of blood grass to go behind my new red hot pokers & left with the grass, a japanese painted fern, a ghost fern & an autumn fern all for $2.00 each!

My best score happened a few years ago. In late August I was at a large garden center.......found a bird of paradise (varigated) that looked like it had been through a war and lost for $5.00. I bought it, since I have a large greenhouse. Told it that it had 2 choices............live or die. Late this winter it had 12 blooms at once. It is now 5 feet tall and residing in a 20 inch pot. It should be divided or repotted. It may take a tree planter to repot it. LOL I've had it about 6 years, I guess. It's bloomed for 3.
