and i love animals,,,,,,,,,,and building things,,,,
I love history and finding out about ancestors. My wife wants to know how I can be so happy to find some one that's dead. Jim
I enjoy reading, counted cross-stitch, bird watching, and computer.
LOL Jim, yep, I like to do genealogy too. Got lots of my ancestory on both my parents sides. More on my mothers fathers side than any of the others, but I'm working on it.
In spring, summer or fall, when I am not gardening I am usually fishing either on the chesapeak bay or off shore in the ocean.
In the winter is when I try to find time for genealogy, cross stitch, baking, reading, building custom fishing rods and lures, crafting trees and such for my "winter garden" of dept 56 porceline houses. I do other various hobbies as time permits. I will try almost anything at least once, (and have tried many, LOL). If I had more time I would love to take some glass blowing classes and learn to crochet. There is never enough time...sigh.
I LUV GARDENING! heheheee
Scrapbooking, reading, bible study, and just this year, gardening. Oh, and I can't forget that my #1 hobby seems to be the internet. LOL

Gardening and reading are high up on my list. I enjoy sewing,. mostly home decor type things now that my children would rather wear store bought clothes. I make wall hangings (tapestry) and sell them at bazaars, I enjoy making each and every one individually, then hate to part with it, but I do. Oh yeah - I tried to sell them on e-bay but couldnt figure it out (I am pretty dense...)
My hobby is teaching my sister how to garden :)

Gardening, model railroading including historical research of railroads, stained glass projects, reading, fishing, golf(when I feel I need to punish myself),birding, cooking and in my spare time Dave's Garden.
I collect plants, just ask anyone, I beg for at least one of everything:) Favorite hobby, even over Dave's, is my 8 month old granddaughter.
kikisdad-my dad was a engineer on the railroad after he got out of ww2! First he worked for New York Central then Penn Central then Conrail(they kept changing owners), he also did a detroit-mackinaw passenger run a few times! Ive been on several trains-blown the whislte for the crossings!=] Been down in the nose of the engines and back in the engine rooms. I have several RR items-log books, engine keys and other things of my dads!
I luv listening to the trains at night!

My Dad was a conductor for New York Central,Penn Central, and Conrail also.
When I was a kid he used to take me to work with him once in a while. Got to ride in the enegine and blow the whistle; also got to ride in the caboose.
The other crew members would have me fill out a time sheet and pay me a dollar for helping them out(lol)
I,ve got several items from the RR an oil can a some brass switch keys.
He died 5 years ago.... sure do miss him.

My Dad worked in Sterling Heights the last 3 or 4 years before he retired. They bought a place with 3 acres in Mount Clemens and he worked there because the drive wasn't to far before he retired.
One of his buddies Roy Wade who was also an engineer is still alive and living in Daytona Beach,Fl.

Meems,
Raising butterflies sounds very interesting. How hard is it to do?
Notmartha-Thats interesting! When I was 16 my father bought me an O-guage Lionel set from the NYC railroad and I built my first layout patterned after that famous road. I had an Uncle,Father's side, who engineered for the Erie road in Susquehanna,Pa. He used to run the pusher to help push the freight trains up the mountain near Starucca. It was a HUGE steam powered 2-16-4 engine that was used and the local Lackawanna Historical society (Vestal,NY) has a photo of it.
My Uncle passed on some years ago but I still have my fondness for the railroads.
Honibee,
I am just starting to research all the good stuff on butterflies. I hope it isn't to hard because I really want to do this. I will start a thread watch for it. Meems
