Glad yall seem to be healing well. Keep me in your prayers, please.

I got more and more dizzy a week ago Sat, but did not want to go to ER because I had a Cardiology appt on Tues. There was a few extra beats in there in the EKG so I had to wear the heart monitor home. My heart just went crazy that night. I went to take the monitor back on Wed and almost passed out in the Cardiologist office. His brother in the same office there is a Critical Care Dr and rushed out. He saw that I was very pale, and said, "She is bleeding from somewhere!" They rushed me to ER.

I was in the hospital from last Wed to Sunday. My Hemoglobin was 5.1. It should be 12.
They transfused in 5 units of blood which brought it up to 9.

They did an Endoscope....no peptic ulcers, and a colonoscopy....no polyps or tumors. There is five ft of small intestine that they cannot see, so I have to go in and swallow the capsule with the camera in it so they can track it. The Dr. thinks there might be a vein that is leaking. So far my blood is holding.

I am still pretty weak. Will be taking it easy for awhile.

My sister Joanne is OK.

Hope everyone is fine.

Jeanne, speedy recovery to you. Positive thoughts and prayer coming your way.

In a botanical note, I planted something called a root beer plant back in January. Then, I kinda forgot about it. That plant loves it here in my garden. I has grown to 6 feet tall, with leaves as big as a letter-size sheet of paper. It has sent out offshoots that are as large and high as the original plant.

When crushed, the leaves smell of root beer. It grows with a vengeance, without any particular care at all. It is coming up everywhere around where it was first planted. I can see that one will eventually become a problem. Of course, the caterpillars that decimate the passionflower vine a few feet away want nothing to do with that plant. I am told you can wrap a piece of chicken in one of those leaves and cook it on the grill. The leaf will impart a deliciously flavorful and spicy taste. Or wasit that it will make you violently sick? I forget. I will have to research all that and give it a try, if it's safe to eat.

Take care, all.
Sylvain.

I just happen to love root beer so I will have to look up that plant. If I like enough I can grow it in the house. I will just make sure it doesn't overtake the house. lol

Jeanne, glad they caught the worst of the bleeding in time. Next time don't wait so long!! ((hugs)) Hang in there and take it easy!!

Oh dear, Jeanne. Seems it is always something.

I have had the root beer plant for several years. Here it is called Hoja Santa. Very popular with our hispanic community. Wrap tamales, wrap fish, wrap skirt steak.....$17.00 per pound at the Mexican market. Kind of invasive...comes up from the roots traveling everywhere. Enjoy.

Good morning,

Jeanne,
Your hemoglobin is way too low and you might have been week a and dizzy a lot. There might have been a slow bleed too and glad that it had stopped. 5 units of blood must have takwn several hours. We will pray for fast recovery,

Also glad Joanne is doing better.
Lou and Sylvain,
The beer plant sounds good and will probably put it in container. Will try to see if I can get some and will try to use it for cooking. Both doing okay???

Update on my ankles,
I am on pain constantly and is considering acupuncture, discussed it with therapist and she said it is okay. I am still using my heavy walking boot and will use it till November. i am on sneakers inside the house.

I am driving now and it helps with the depression. I do not go far though because of swelling on the boot. I have a long way!!!

Take and have a good day.

BEware of the root beer plant. Mine came from nowhere and it's liking my garden too much. It gets a regular dose of Round-up!

How all are doing better from their harrowing experiences.
