Aphids; aka plant lice. Insecticidal soap should take care of them.

Really? Hmmm. I just did a Google Image search for "aphid plant lice". I combed through hundreds of pictures and can't find one that matches my picture? Do they bite? What if they get in the house? Should I be worried?

There are many kinds as you found out, but none will hurt you directly and as far as I have ever heard, do not live inside the house even on houseplants.

Some aphids will live indoors on potted plant, but again, insecticidal soap will control them.

Is there something organic 100% natural and pet/kid safe that I can spread on my entire lawn to combat these guys?

Not that I know of. Just concentrate your efforts on the plants you find infested.

I'm actually not concerned with the grass or plants. We just put some chairs and tables in the yard and within minutes, swarms of these things began to start crawling their way all over them. There is no way we can actually sit on our lawn furniture when its covered in these bugs, gross!!! What exactly is insecticidal soap?

See http://www.saferbrand.com/store/garden-care/5118 for an example of insecticidal soap. Aphids on furniture simply can be washed off with a stream of water from a garden hose.

Thanks!

marioval...you might want to get yourself some lady beetles (bugs). i read that a lady beetle can eat more than 5000 aphids in a lifetime.
i have a wild aristolochia that was covered with aphids and the lady beetles came and reproduced and pretty soon there were lady beetles and their larva all over the plant eating aphids. within 5 days (about) i couldn't find one aphid on that plant. i hadn't used insecticidal soap and even stopped hand squishing and just let the beetles and larva eat. after they had eaten every thing on the aristolochia, they started on the lime tree. i think a combination of hosing the aphids off the furniture, lady beetles, and insecticidal soap in places where the lady beetles aren't ought to bring your problem under control.
