My Containers for 2012

Somewhere in, MD(Zone 7b)

Oh my GOSH they are absolutely SPECTACULAR!!! I love the ones with the bright pink Verbena in them, Verbena has become one of my favourites. WOWEEE, some really beautiful art ya got going on there Young Lady! =)

I planted lantana a couple of years ago and nearly broke my arm digging the huge rootball from the pot.
I like the way the branches spread with clusters of flowers at the end.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

I love lantana, specifically when they have pink and orange in the same plant, but my husband found them very irritating and itchy. He has extremely sensitive skin, which he finds terribly embarrassing!

Somewhere in, MD(Zone 7b)

Aaawww Carrie, that's nothing for him to be embarrassed about!!! Lantana can be harsh on the most burly of people. My own DH has very sensitive skin as well, and he leaves all the plant-handling chores to me. I like it that way, actually! =) I love Lantana too, just wish it wasn't an annual... or at least around here it is. But at least I get to take care of it at work! :)

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

I'm not embarrassed, HE is!

Somewhere in, MD(Zone 7b)

Heeheeeheeee, yes Ma'am, I totally understand... hence my saying "that's nothing for him to be embarrassed about". ;) I mean, it's not like you would say to him "Well, gosh, I wish I'd known you had sensitive skin BEFORE I married you, I never would have married you if I had known!!". LOL!!!!!!!!!!! Just tell him it's nothing more than a reflection of his beautiful sensitive heart, which you love so well! =D

Is the lower left in pot # 1 Sedona? Love it, really striking combo.

Stamford, CT(Zone 6b)

Polly, I love your container smileboxes as well as lilies. I am so impressed that your containers have filled in so well. Did you start indoors?

I notice that some of your containers are very large. Do you fill them completely so that they are very heavy, or do you put in a false bottom? I have added false bottoms to some of my the largest containers, but they are still pretty heavy.

While you ar busy designing in the winter, I'm still trying to keep the indoor cuttings alive (HA-HA).

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

denise: yes that is sedona. Its just fantastic there and not too great in another part of the deck plantings. I think the amt. of sun is key.

cathy166: my name is JoAnn.

Somewhere in, MD(Zone 7b)

Oooops, no Setcretia, my bad! =P Well, they are spectacular just the way you do them, it really shows all the thought you put into all of them! =)

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I looked at the containers and maybe you saw a piece of potato vine thats the same dark color.

Somewhere in, MD(Zone 7b)

That must be it. I just re-looked through the last slide-show that you shared, and what I saw is in pic #20, in the bottom right corner of the pic. There are some almost lanceolate-looking leaves of a very deep purple. That's what I mistook for the Setcretia at first glance.

So, at work we've got this notebook that we use to keep track of supply orders, both for the store and specific stuff for customers. There will be another order placed on Monday, so yesterday I put "Pot Feet" in the book... let's see if BossLady decides she needs to order them. < =D

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I got the cute ones from Kinsman. Not cheap but who knows Goodluck.
I'll try to ID #20 That IS sweetpotatoe vine.
The tinny white flowered plant is a no id .DD and I have our own planters on the deck, she bought too many of that white lacy one and put the extra in my pot. It cascades nicely and gets huge.

We order most of our stuff through a company called "Commerce", and they've got some pretty cute ones in there at very reasonable prices. All I really want is just simple little "feet" (they even have "toes"!), maybe terra cotta. I'm gonna grab a BOATLOAD of 'em when we get them! =)

That white lacy stuff, is that an Alyssum? I've started some from seed, and they are barely coming up so far... we shall see, I'll just be patient and give it time. (or, maybe I should give it Thyme?) < =D

Somewhere in, MD(Zone 7b)

Oh my goodness, YES, the elephant ears are a GORGEOUS addition!!!

Oh, and, good morning! =)

Off I go now to water while it's still early and not sweltering yet. I'm working the 10:00 - 6:00 shift today, so I'm sure I'll be back when I'm done watering. =)
