I saw this in our insect trap this morning and was a little alarmed.

Is this a Black Widow?

Thank you so much for your help. I appreciate it!


PS> If it is, is there something I can do to make sure we're safe? I've tried spraying insecticide along our house, but maybe it's time to do it again. Thanks.

I've seen this spider before and it is NOT a Black Widow. One of the Sac Spiders, Castianeira sp. maybe?

Ah, I think you're right....after looking up some images of Castianeira, it seems more in line with this spider.
