Garden Gems for May 2012
Just love those dwarfs.
WOW Pixie your place must be overwhelming.
Glad you took your stroll, Pixie
Love all the pics, everybody
Pisie,I understand you are moving to a new house?
What will become of your gardens?
I'll move most of the stuff down back with me. I'll leave some up here....and i've already bought 3 new JMaples and a few others for the new house. :)
I'd be strolling all the time at your house, Pixie
nice celeste!
I don't think Jo realizes it's a new house but on the same property
Just lovely Celeste
Jo, that allium is just lovely, and the tree peony is a wonderful color! Pixie, love the dark red irises! Also the wellhouse....had mine repaired this year, & it needs to be painted....
Thanks Jen.That explains a lot. I couldnt leave the gardens here. When I do I will be permanently out of touch.
glad you got your stroll in Celeste... and we can enjoy your photos!!
Glad to have cleared that up for you, Jo ;)
VERY cute
yes, Hollyhock. Looks like ones I have.
thanks... I don't see mine in the back yard... and the one in my front yard is only a couple of leaves sticking out of the ground.. guess that lack of full sun strikes again
:(
Is that phlox mildew resistant?
Marilyn is that phlox Aureole?
I think that plant is a malva...hollyhock cousin....Jo, it doesn't say on the tag, only that it's a Proven Winner, phlox hybrid.....since it's an annual phlox, there wouldn't be a mildew problem....
LOVE Verbascum
Beautiful pics, everyone. Love the verbascum and the dwarf iris pics. I need more of both.
Karen
Nice verbascum Marilyn. Dont you also have Violette?
the iris & verbascum are perfect together RD
Thanks....I do have violette, Jo, and chaxii album, Southern Charm, & a few phoenecium hybrids.....I planted a few seeds of verbascum yesterday....I'll see what comes up....
Pirl and I were just compareing notes on how much shorter lilies are this year. Many of mine are at least 18 inches or so and the Martagones are half the size they were last year. One isnt blooming and I dont see any buds on the Backhouses.
Other perennials seem un changed.
still don't see 6 foot lily or black beautys... guess the hurricane & snow storm were too much for them.. maybe ??
all my other shots from yesterday
