I live in Salt Lake County, where we had a really dry winter and a hottish early spring.
I lost small woody perennials such as Thymus citriodorus, Penstemon pinnifolia, and Helianthemum nummularium. (Jury's still out on the Ceratostigma plumbaginoides, which often sprouts later in the spring.)
The dry winter was also really hard on the Phlox subulata. I noticed both in my yard and elsewhere that the center of the plant looked dead whereas the edges were just fine.
Anyone else have similar bad luck?
What did the dry winter kill in YOUR yard?
I think I've lost 2 of my favorite Clematis, Blue Light and Dr. Ruppel. The Bindweed doesn't seem to be bothered, though. ^_^
