Food Thread for Ric & Holly's Swap Yummy Yummy

Saylorsburg, PA(Zone 6a)

FlowAgen,
If you can eat eggs, milk, sugar, and rhubarb I might be persuaded to try to make a small rhubarb custard for you without the cake part!! No guarantees how it will turn out but I have had luck with other fruits!! No trouble as I will have the ingredients assembled anyway for the cake! Onewish, consider rhubarb a fruit and then no issue over being too healthy!!! :)

If it's no extra work that would be great!!!! but don't go thru any trouble. THANKS!

Lucketts, VA(Zone 7a)

My neighbor friend Cheryl will be bringing individual mini cheesecakes.

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

I'll bring a big cooler with drink ice

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

and a seedless watermelon

Silver Spring, MD(Zone 6b)

Holly, I may need to back out on bringing the fruit sale because of lack of room for cooler in trunk. I'll definately bring baked goods as stated. I am helping with a funeral luncheon for a friend's Mother Friday so I may have to stick to desserts that don't need refrigeration. I would like to bring my electric knife to use slicing my banana bread when I get there if you don't mind. If I find I have room I will do it ahead of time and put it on platter wrapped up good in foil, etc.
I could even slice it before I leave, wrap it in new foil and just put it on platter when I get there. It might be about noon when we get there.

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

No problem Pippi, You are welcome to bring your electric knife if it is easier to slice it once you get here, not sure I have a working one anymore.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

that must be some banana bread that you need an electric knife to slice it, LOL

Mount Bethel, PA(Zone 6a)

Jen, you're just too funny.

^_^

Lucketts, VA(Zone 7a)

Be careful that Sally doesn't see it. She loves the blades.

Silver Spring, MD(Zone 6b)

It just slices so much faster and nicer with electric carving knife..I do make a good banana nut bread..everybody asks for the recipe because it is so moist. Made 2 on Friday or Saturday and we went through it in 2 days..Made a few more this morning, and have enough bananas and other ingredients to make 1 more. I need to make one for the Memorial luncheon I'm helping with on Friday.

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

Just for the fun of it--I was going to bring some of my Home Made Pickles.
I made one lg. jar--and wanted to make more---but the stores do not have any fresh dill--
for a week already---and cukes cost $1 each right now. Ridiculous!!!!

I will bring the jar I have and holly and Ric can hide it and eat it themselves....Deal?
Even if I did find some Dill--it would be too late to do a batch now....

nothing wrong with a gift for the hosts!!!

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

Gita, I remember that good jar of pickles you made before they were de-lish. Yummy

I have been slow up dating the food list. Will try to get to it. Looks like we will be feasting.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

Holly if I make chicken & rice ... would you be able to warm it up?

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

Yes, either in the oven or the microwave.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

ok wonderful.. seems we have deserts well covered, salads, and picky foods... couldn't decide .. but that will work

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

well I didn't have enough plastic containers... hope the oven use will be ok.. used a 1/2 sterno tray.. figured with all those great deserts ... I went with the brown rice.. hope that's ok

;)

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

No "group" after all... I'm riding up with Aspenhill & her friend Cheryl... still bringing a pasta salad, but it's no longer Greek LOL (Wegman's makes an olive tapanade that's fabulous with pasta, warm or cold or in between... cooked the pasta tonight and will add the mix-ins when I get there!)

Glad I checked this thread, because I'd forgotten about the other items I mentioned... I don't think I have cream cheese, sadly, but I'm running out right now to throw in a bag of tortilla strips and some salsa!

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

I love Olive tapanade

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Good! We went to Wegman's tonight to get some grazing-style munchies for dinner, and I saw it on the olive bar and thought, hmm, that would be easier than making that greek dressing! LOL Bringing homemade "roasted salsa sauce" to make up for it.

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

Jill

I'll throw a package of Cream Cheese in my food tote for you.
Don't expect a reply--as we are all getting ready to roll.

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

Yummy yummy all right-
I did not think I would like hot potato salad, Jan, but that was really good!

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Heehee. Thank you. Glad you liked it. The only way Jeff will eat potato salad. He doesn't like it with mayo.

I liked the variety of yummies. I think gardeners are good cooks as well!!!
