Have any of you who were teenagers in the 60s ,like me ,any memories of ouija boards ? We used to scare ourselves stupid messing around. Did anything come true, or was it all nonsense ?
Marigold.
Ouija Boards.
I remember using one at at pajama party, when I used it, spooked everyone out and we stopped playing,....I think I was a sophmore in HS , A Looooooooooooong time ago.
In turkey we used to play something similiar, we would use a turkish coffee cup (demitasse) and then cut out the alphabet and numbers, and then line them up in a circle and then everyone would touch the inverted coffee cup....yes, we spooked ourselves silly....
I've never been tempted to have a go. Come to think of it I wasn't a teenager in the 60's either but some of my school friends were really into it. After about 18 months I got talking to one of them about it and she went white, they had decided after the previous night they weren't ever going to do it again and nor did they. I can't quite remember what had happened but it had frightened the life out of them.
I do know a lady who has exceptional abilities and she rarely talks about them. When she nad her husband were first married, he didn't believe in anything which couldn't be explained. He teased her constantly and she got so fed up she turned off the tv and concentrated. Her husband told me in his own words that the sofa started to shake and the room filled with a grey mist. The mist formed a human figure in the air and he looked at his wife, she was locked in a trance so he shook her. The mist went and everything settled down. I've know the family for many years and I know that this isn't a story.
He still doesn't believe in anything and he laughs when strange things happen but he doesn't mock his wife anymore!
I also owe the woman a debt of gratitude, she isn't a fortune teller but she saw my health failing badly (she sees auras) when no one including myself had noticed.
Really this game is not good to nobody, I know about that that is bad it is from Demon and if you like this game that is your choice.
i have a friend that to this day SWEARS that one night during a sleep over (i was on the "outs" then, lol) they pulled out the ouija board. she said that a cross on the wall started spinning, etc..her mom said that they had to call in someone to bless the house after that because weird (bad) things kept happening.
if i didnt believe ginger, i at least believed her mom.
come to think of it, i guess im glad we were mad at each other, lol
jen
i wont allow them in my house, either.
No way!
I have never touched one.
I was never around one until I was out on my own. I went over to a girlfriends one night. She had invited several of us. I got there late, something I NEVER do, and they had one of those out playing with it. They insisted I give the next question and instructed me to make it a hard one. I told them to tell me my sisters birthdate. (I have three sisters and did not tell them which one.) They gave me the correct date for the one I was thinking of. None of them knew me well enough to know any of my sisters birthdates. I decided right then I did not want anything to do with them. At that time and for many years before and after I was not superstitous about anything, except this one thing. It just made me uncomfortable and so I avoided them.
Messed with popularized occult things like that when I was a teen, but got away from that stuff. The only Spirit I wish to consult is the Holy Spirit! :o)
Agreed Gardenwife! I just reread my reply. I did not mean to say I was afraid of the object. The Lord is my protection. But I do not remain around people who make me uncomfortable and the same for this.
The Ouija is dangerous simply because using it makes you more "visible" to the wicked spirits who frequent such occult activities.
I humbly suggest BURNING any such object so that it does not fall into the hands of innocent people who might be harmed. Some people open that door and can never get it shut again. Without Christ's protection, a lot of mischief and even harm can be done.
Don't let your kids play with this seemingly innocuous "game".
Love in Christ,
Janie

My thought is it is nothing to play with.
I had one when I was a kid (I have no idea why my otherwise God-fearing mama let me have one!) I got rid of it when I realized it really wasn't something I felt comfortable having around me.
As an adult, my faith and belief in God is strong enough that I don't believe that a ouija board has any "magical" power, nor do I think anyone can truly predict anything with them, but I also don't think it's a wholesome activity to engage in. (And I won't be buying one for MY daughter, LOL!)
There scary. Friends dad asked it the day he was gonna die. It answered him. Supposedly a light came in around his arms. He did pass away, and the color of his arms were not normal at the wake.. I heard that and never used the thing, never allowed one in my home, etc. Probably scared my kids to death about it, but thats ok.. Definitly believe in the good here and the bad.. Prefer Good...
I have found it is best not to know what may happen, I already have a sixth sense that often works overtime and that is often more than enough!
Sometimes, I scare myself and that is enough for me !
This is a totally true story.
A friend of mine (ordinary, non-sensational person) dabbled in the occult years ago, and one of the things they had was an ouija board. When she and her husband decided to get rid of all their questionable things, she tried to pull the ouija board off the closet shelf, but it wouldn't budge. She pulled over and over. Finally, it came off the shelf as she was pulling it with great force and knocked her over backwards against the other wall in the hall. She took it outside and burned it.
