Fiji Fan Palm germination

I purchased 5 Fiji Fan Palm seeds about 2 months ago. I have tried germinating 2 so far with no luck. Does any one have any tips? Or successful ways they have germinated them? I am quickly running out of the seeds :(

To rule this out let me tell you how I tried germinating them. I removed the shell and nicked the seeds until you could see the white inside. I then soaked them in water for 48 hours, changing it often. I thin put potting soil in a plastic ziploc bag, watered it (squeezed out the excess water) and put the seed in there. I sealed the bag and put the bag in a sunny window on a germination mat.

Am I doing something wrong?
