Wow great thread and how colorful all the birds really are! Linth, I had family came in last week from Maryland, if I only knew you wanted a RHWP, lol. Just kidding. Iris, thanks for taking the time to share those red, white and blue feathered friends with one another. Adel the Emu with babies is something we don't get to see everyday. I love to spot turkeys in the wild, nice find. Duc, your Western Kingbird is alot more colorful than our Eastern ones. Hello Burn, Mrs Ed and Rose, Margaret and Pelle. Please keep those pix coming. I'll post to share any news from down South and long with Elphy and others.
Here is one of the first Canadian Geese with babies;
Daily bird pix no.437
Nanny, congrats on your redstart sighting. Sweet little yellow-rumped warbler.
Iris, wonderful variety of colorful birds. What is the species of that white bird?
Adel, great shot of the turkeys. The emu family is adorable.
Lily, sweet shot of the goose family too.
Here's a bushtit, a double-crested cormorant, a pair of wood ducks, a western kingbird and a black phoebe.
Lilly love, yes, I do want a RHWP lol!! ( and your welcome!) Love the canadian geese pic! I'm going to see if I can get out to the ponds this weekend and get a few pics of them too ( Hoping they have there little ones)
ducbucln, Thanks! The white bird is a hawk, When I first seen him 5 years ago, I didn't think he would survive to long being that he's white, I thought he would stick out like a sore thumb and be easy prey or have a hard time getting prey, but, He has done just fine, Actually, Its a "she", I watched her carrying nesting material a couple weeks ago. ~ She's really getting mobbed a lot , Especially right now with all the nesting birds out there.
Great images you took!
Duc, Love that shot of the Western Kingbird and the Bushtit!
Lily, Sweet babies!

Adel, I haven't a clue on the species of sparrow you have but hope you'll ask on Bird Identification-
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/f/birdid/all/
The first 2 photos are of a newly arrived oriole. It sure had a hard time trying to figure out how to balance on the feeder perch (it did finally make it), then there's an adult Hooded Oriole and another oriole sharing with a hummingbird. Last one is a Bewick's Wren.
Thanks Resin...
Love those sparrows, Adel. I was so lucky to have a few that came to the grain feeder that is hung in the frontyard. Love your series Duc, so sweet to see the Oriole and Hummingbird sharing a nectar feeder. Burn, please send me back some Goldfinches. They all have left us down South for weeks! I missed them. Heeee, Iris. If you love the RHWPs. Just you wait until you see their offsprings. They're adorable. lol
Here I've a Swan revisiting our area lake.
those tuxedo birdies are just so darn cute.
Great pictures all, Thanks for sharring!
Lily-Love, I don't think I've seen a swan in about 5 years so I enjoyed your photos! ... Hoping to see some RHWP offspring shots ( hint hint)
adelbertcat, I tried to get a shot of a chipping sparrow the other day, But, Missed out, At least I get to see a pic of yours.
ducbucln, Love those oriols, I try to attract them, But, Don't usually have much luck. ...I miss the tree swallows! Great pics, Love #2 and #4!
Well, I have a couple pictures of the Mockingbird babies, Unfortunately, I don't think they made it :( .. My Rose bushes got so weighted down with rose blooms that it made the branches hang down exposing the nests, They are pretty much exposed open, Especially the mockingbird nest and the sun was scorching hot the other day, The poor little things were panting, So I took a big beach unbrella and placed it by the root of the rose bush so that the babies would get some shade, Seemed to work well, Everything was fine again, But then, Yesterday we had heavy rains and strong winds, I had the unbrella set up so that it would protect the babies from the rain too, But, The strong winds and heavy weight of the rose soaked branches split open the bush even more and the poor little babies and mother were no where to be found today, I'm still hoping that they made it to some safe spot, But, They really weren't at the age to leave the nest yet, It really sadens me that this happened. The Thrush is still at her nest in the other rose bush, I have the unbrella covering her now from rain and sun, She seems to be doing good, She has five eggs , None have hatched yet, I'm hoping they all pull through seeing the situation, I'm going to have to keep a close eye on them! I'll be posting pics a little later.
Lovely photos!
Just saw the first Catbirds of the season!! :)
Iris, I do hope the mockingbird chicks made it too.
Lily, nice photos of your towhee and cardinal. Are those carrots real or part of a feeder?
Ladi, congrats on the new Dunlin-love cute photos.
Here's a Hooded Oriole, a photo showing a white-crowned sparrow and a golden-crowned sparrow, a European Starling and a Calif. towhee.
Congratulations Ladi_Burd!
Very nice pics guys!
Duc, those "carrots" are actually Alabama Ricky and Lucy's bird house. :) And it was made to resemble hot peppers from the SW. :))
Nice thrasher Ladi_Burd! I heard one yesterday but never could spot it!!
Lily-love and ducbucln, Thankyou for the comment on the babies.
Great photos all, Duc, Love # 3 and #4 and just love those oriols, Wish I had some here! Are there any migration charts for them here??
Glad you asked about the carrote because I was curious too!!
Ok, Finally got a few minutes to post some photos!!
First photo ..The two Rose Bushes where they built there nests
#2 ... Trying to cover the mockingbird babies from the sun, Then rain
#3 ...Trying to protect the thrasher nest from sun and rain ( As you can see the rose bushes got really messed up)
I have not seen the Thrasher mom around.. She was always on her nest, So I'm a bit worried now)
#5-Sparrow or finch??
House Finch, female
Does anyone know what this bird is? Warbler?
Myrtle Warbler (formerly Yellow-rumped Warbler)
Resin
