Hello Everyone, Sybil has kindly offered to host our spring RU at her home!!!

Date--- April 28th, 2012 ****NOTE: Saturday this time!*****
Place-- BURLESON, TX. (South of Fort Worth and west of I-35)
Since it is a private residence we will not be posting her exact address here, we will dmail it to those planning to attend.
Time--- Noon or later
Eat at 1:30 - 2pm (Electricity is available, but not for cooking only warming)

Here is the trade thread link(s)... #1 http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1240847/
and #2 http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1248592/

There will be no door charge, and our hostess will furnish coffee, tea, cups, plates, napkins and plastic ware.
Bring your folding tables, chairs and wagons if you have them. Sybil does have a lot of tables for eating but we need more for plants and chairs for extra seating.

Plenty of space for parking is available, a large pavillion with electricity next to her house where we will be able to access a bathroom and running water! You will pull up in the drive, unload, then cars will be moved to another area. Thank you Frank for being our parking attendant last year!

Also bring door prizes (one per guest) for a drawing later. Something small low cost, and suitable for man or women please.

This is a super spot for our event and has graciously been offered for our use at no charge. I hope we will have a good attendance and you all get to experience the country event. I for one had a great time here last year!

******We need some feedback from everyone as to if you will be putting this on your calendar. *****

If cheryl is bringing chicken, then make my jambalaya of the shrimp type.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

I will bring ham for sure and maybe a dish of potato salad if I have time to make it that morning.

(Joy) Hempstead, TX(Zone 8b)

I will bring either a cobbler or a goat cheesecake, and I will bring some of my blueberry chevre, don't know what catagory that is, but it is a killer appetizer.

Joy
Trying to get someone to feed the bottle babies so my DH can come as well.

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

I am bringing a friend. She has just moved and loves irises.

Grapevine, TX(Zone 8a)

Dallas, TX

LOL, yes Stephanie and can you bring the funeral music as well :)

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

It's been a long time since I turned 40, but I had a singles group at church in Waco that surprised me at my house after work. Sprinkled flour in my hair, put granny glasses and a shawl around me and sat me in a rocker. My cake had black roses and candles and my gifts were depends, fixodent, magnifying glass, corn patches, etc....on and on! We had a blast laughing.

Sorry off topic, but had to share. :-)

Hutchins, TX

I'll bring cold drinks plus 1 hubby.

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

Sheila...do you dare show us a picture? That is a great story!

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

LOL Anna! No...not because I wouldn't, but no time to find them now.

Rancho Santa Rita, TX(Zone 8a)

Grapevine, TX(Zone 8a)

I will bring drinks.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Who's bringing the air conditioning?

Magnolia, TX(Zone 8b)

No Sopillla Cheesecake? Well, for all of you youngen' that don't know what it is that you have been missing, guess it is time you learned!!!
Put me down for a sopilla (I'm home-grown TEXAN & don't spell Mexican) cheesecake, if I can drive up & cook one!!!
If not, I bring something else!!!
:~)

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

We were just waiting on you to volunteer to bring it! Didn't want to step on your toes or anything. :)

Rancho Santa Rita, TX(Zone 8a)

Oh GOODIE !!!

Your sopaipilla cheesecake is LEGENDARY !!

THAT alone would be reason to drive far for.

Cant wait to try it.

Will there be UNsweet tea ?

Burleson, TX(Zone 8a)

There will be unsweet tea, Baja..

I have another guest--my wonderful daughter-in-law, Kathy.

Phyllis wonders if anyone has a start of a broom bush?

Also, Phyllis is bringing a dish (I don't know what), and I'm bringing a tuna casserole.

(Joy) Hempstead, TX(Zone 8b)

If y'all want, I just dug a bunch of potatoes and onions from the garden, I can make "homemade" potato salad instead of a goat cheese platter or cheese straws. Any is easy peasy, just need a preference.
Joy

Iola, TX(Zone 8b)

I will bring a cucumber and tomato salad. If anything else is needed please let me know..

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Thank you Trish, that sounds great!!

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Joy whatever is easiest for you, but I think homemade potato salad would rock! Remember, though, there's no way to keep it cool.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Joy, since you are coming from Waco, just an ice chest should work for the trip to Burleson....plus we eat early also. I won't bring a potato salad if you are sure you will. I already signed up for a ham, so that's enough.

(Joy) Hempstead, TX(Zone 8b)

Sheila, I will be coming from Hempstead, but plan on using an ice chest. Depending on the bowl size I end up with, I will probably nest it in ice once it is there. I am already boiling potatoes and stole eggs from our selling fridge to boil as well. I make a great old fashioned potato salad, y'all will like it. Was planning on Maple Bacon cheesecakes but since Smockette is bringing her cheesecake, I will use some of our fruit and make a cobbler for dessert.

See ya' soon,

Joy

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

That sounds great Joy, but please don't go to a lot of trouble.

(Joy) Hempstead, TX(Zone 8b)

No trouble, I love to cook, and enjoy making a wide range of things. We have blueberries, blackberries, strawberries and peaches in the freezer from last year and a cobbler is super easy. The hard part is not eating it with Bluebell when it first comes out of the oven.

Joy
