My sweet grands are visiting for spring break. They are delighted to find a variety of caterpillars abound in east Texas.
I have a couple of bug ID books but can't answer all their questions.
This is the item currently in question. They have found two of these.
One did and one didn't have the glittery dots on its' back.
Can anyone answer the "Gramma, what is it? " question?

Can anyone answer the "Gramma, what is it? " question?
Hi Kristi,
If you bring this question to the Butterflies and Hummingbirds forum, you sure will get a quick answer.
Thanks Kim... I'll try it there and hope not to get in trouble for duplicating a thread. Oh well ~ I stay in trouble. Thanks.
Pupae (chrysalis) of butterfly in family Nymphalidae; possibly Polygonia interrogationis -

That sure favors it, Flapdoodle ~ thank you. It will be close enough to satisfy two little girlies.
That is also good enough information for Gramma to tell them to leave them alone! We've had some stormy weather and I suspect the wind has brought them to the ground. Thanks much.
I had tried to post this over on the other forum but bad weather didn't let it go through. Now I won't have to ~ thanks to both of you. Kristi
