I just planted a mock orange innocence two days ago, and this morning I noticed over half a dozen of these flying insects on it. My husband and I are trying to decide if they're harmless, or if we need to try to kill them as soon as possible. Any help identifying them would be greatly appreciated!

Looks like a hover fly in genus Paragus; harmless/beneficial.
