havent gone to see the cherry trees yet...today we'll go. However...they have this pink flowering tree everywhere! I'm assuming its a redbud or a crepe. not familiar with either so im not sure. If i had to guess...i'd say it was redbud....it's everywhere!!!!!!!!!

our red buds are blooming now.. so I am not sure.. thinking they would be ahead of us.. glad you have some pretty blooms!!.. will keep my fingers crossed that the CB are blooming!!

We had to go from 1 airport to the other in DC, and there were trees blooming then too. I don't know what they were. It was March 11th I think.

It's 42 F this morning, and our fears were not realized overnight. It rained. Easy so far to keep the bulb box indoors, and the new pots outdoors were certified frost free. Around here the stellata magnolias are looking weathered, but the saucer magnolias are still in bud, so probably OK. Witch hazels are past bloom. I've lost interest in forsythia, but the redbuds and flowering almonds were nice yesterday.

40 here this morning - must be redbuds celeste - they have not started here yet although my don egolf is very close to opening

Boy are the regional differences easy to see today. It's pretty warm and sunny in Waltham now, more in a valley. My Korean Azaleas were wrecked by wind and weather a few days ago, right after bill said that about his, but they're blooming beautifully at Bentley college.

Are your redbuds out yet Bill? they're half or more open around here. My west coast variety is disappointing.

Also, I wonder why my Betty magnolia is coming out much darker in flower than I remember other years. Not enough sun to bleach it? Snow predicted this weekend may wipe out its beauty. So glad my newest magnolia will be a later bloomer--"golden gift."

rosemary my eastern redbud is not close some out front will bloom in the next week or so - they get late afternoon sun when it is warmer
