I've seen these before, sometimes even on top of the snow. They always appear in a mass that is constantly moving. They are soooo tiny I can't see any detail without the camera and even then it's poor at best.
I took these pics after raking leaves off of a flower bed. What are they and how do I get rid of them ?

Collembola (springtails) - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Podura_aquatica
Springtails!! Googled them, seems like when things dry out they will no longer be an issue.
