"Tutorial Illiterate"

Crossville, TN

Yes! I am a complete failure at reading and comprehending TUTORIALS! Our Hero, Dave, was kind enough to email me the step-by-step instructions. (thank you, Dave). I am willing to share these with OTHERS out there who suffer from the same short comings. All I ask is that you STAND UP, and admit that you needed them too! "Confession is good for the soul"! (you will notice that he starts of with I PRESUME....HAH!)Jo

I presume you've gone through the Journal tutorial (the link is at the
top of your journal main page), and still need help. Try these steps:

Go to Dave's Garden.

In your menu, click on "roadrunner's Journal".

Then, you'll be in your journal.

Under "Main Menu:", click on "Manage Categories (Add/Delete categories)"

In the field given, type something in (like, "My pictures"). Click submit.

Now, look on the right-side of your page, under the DG logo. You'll
see a box called "Journal Menu". Inside that box, click on "Main Page".

Now, scroll down and at the very bottom, you'll see an area called
"Access by category".

The name of the category that you had just typed should appear there.

Click on that name.

Now, click on "Add a new item under this category"

In the first field, give it a name, like "Pictures of my cat".

Then scroll all the way down and click submit.

Next, click on "Add an entry to this item"

You'll then see an area where you can type in a caption to your
image, and a "Browse" button to find the picture.

Browse and find the picture, click submit, and you are done.

Click on "Go back to the entry".

Click on "External view".

Then copy and paste that address in your browser and share it
with your friends.

Good luck!!!

Okay, on top of being tutorial illiterate, I've now lost controll of my printer. It's decided that "landscape" is prefferable to "portrait" Yeeeeeesh.

Ok, I admit I'm printing this now. Can't set up Journal or post a pic on the ID forum. I'm a real ding-dong, huh!
Just wanted to admit that I can't figure this one out. Well, here I go. I'm atleast gonna give it one more try.

Thanks, Traci

great!! I thought I had to wait for my daughter to show me how. Maybe I can figure it out. Computers and I don't seem to jive. I guess it knows I'm not of the computer generation. I tried to send a picture and it said preview, and I clicked on it and nothing ever happened. I will try again.

Ok roadrunner I printed out the instuctions and will try it tomorrow. And everybody roadrunner is the one that helped me get started on a computer. Of course I now have to do it on my own. I know roadrunner I said I was going to bed on msn but while it was fresh on my mind I wanted to see if I could find the threads you were talking about and guess what found them as you will see. My mind is not as food these days so have to do things before I forget. LOL Gosh I can remember when you used to tell me you just wait when you get older things starts happening like forgetting, sore feet and ankles acid reflux you know good stuff like that. LOL Sami
