My Great Grand Daughter "growls" - So funny!!

My little Great Grand Daughter makes the funniest growel, and puts out her little fingers like claws - We call her a "Scary Bear" or Puppy Dog! She is such a happy little thing and claps her hands and squeals with delight when we laugh at her growl! She will be one year old on Feb 2nd but has been doing this for a few months - we have never heard a baby do this before - is this a common thing, none of our other grandchildren made such a sound.
