Hi, I am glad there's a place like this :)
I have no idea what this is, and need your expertise. I see these things every once in a while in the most random places. I can't give you exact dimensions... but almost the size of a sharpened #2 pencil tip. They barely move and stay within a region/wall for hours... just randomly every few days. I've noticed these since I moved into my apartment. I haven't noticed them in or on my bed, or when changing... but it would be great to know. I usually take them off the wall when a toilet paper piece, and then while on the cotton fibers can I see them move every so slightly, but surprising. They don't seem to run away from light source when shining a flashlight, and these are isolated bugs - e.g. I don't see multiples in any particular area.
Where are they coming from - how can I possibly eliminate them?
I hope this picture helps - it's not the best, and thank you in advance.

I think I found the answer - this looks like a Carpet Beetle - I was randomly searching google images and the same bugger showed up... at least it looks like it.
My main concerns are - do these cause illness? easy to remove in an apartment setting? I only see these every few days by chance... Lastly, I wonder if these bugs actually bite humans or cause other allergic skin reactions - concerned about newborns.

It is indeed a carpet beetle larvae.
As long as you aren't dealing with mass numbers of them, they're really nothing to worry about.
Most people find one once in a while. Eradication is as simple as keeping a clean home. They feed on fabric among other things, so its just a matter of vacuuming regularly really.
And they can come in your home from outside. They don't bite, but the hair from the larvae can cause skin irritation. If you're the type of person that can't handle hairy caterpillars, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about.
But as I said before, if you're not finding a lot of them, then you're perfectly fine, and there's no reason to worry for a person of any age ;).
