Nicotiana

It has been quite awhile since I have done any wintersowing. Can I WS Nicotiana now or should I wait until Aprilish?

I just ordered Nicotiane seeds and would like to know the answer to your question also? I wasn't thinking so much about WS and just setting up my "garage greenhouse" and starting seeds. Except I don't have enough light for all my plants so they would be pretty spindly by June 1. My cold frame is officially under 3' so snow on the deck. Should have gotten stuff planted and into it before now. I will have to shovel my way to it and uncover it. Probably when we get back from Hawaii. We leave on Monday the 9th and return on the 19th. Then I really have to get hoppin'

I winter sowed my tall white on 3/20 last year.

Good to know. I think part of where I was getting hung up is that I have had nicotiana seed itself and come up the following year.

I neglected to ask - do you have a date range when you would sow the nicotiana?

I think it depends on the weather.... lately it's been the end of March for me, is when i do my annuals.

Thanks - you are a half a zone cooler than I am. Perhaps mid March.

Those reseed without any help at all here, I've wintersown them in the dead of winter and they were fine.
