That shrink wrap thing is awful,its so tough they can`t break through,I hate helping I think that I`m not doing it right and will make things worse.I feel bad that I didn`t help one of them and it died before I could get it out.I have the three in a fish tank and it like watching chick tv.

Jadee was so glad to get out of the cage for awhile the first thing she done was take a dust bath,babies did not know what she was doing.

Sad news,in the 6th picture up that says Jadee`s babies are growing see the two little white ones?The smallest is gone,I wnet out this morning to do chores and counted her babies and there was only 6,she is still in the cage so I don`t know what happened to it,it was the smallest one but was doing great,I looked everywhere in the cage outside the cage in behind the cage it just dissapeared.I put the plastic fencing around the cage so they could not get out but it may have got through that to,I feel bad,I just would like to know where its little body is,I let Jadee out to see if she could find it but nothing.I know these things happen but I thought I was so careful to make sure they were safe.
Oh, I'm so sorry. I understand at least wanting to know what happened to the wee mite. We get so attached to them and it's just so sad to lose the tiny ones. I hope the rest continue to do well, and that Jadee is able to keep them with her.
We do the best we can, but sadly, it isn't always enough.
These are my fish tank silkies,they were born late and I was going to put them under Jadee but by the time the smallest one learned to drink it was to late,the other two were a week old and they would not have know to get under her to keep warm,so I have house chickens,dh says he is not happy about it but he likes to watch then and he holds them while I clean out there home and I hear him talking to them.

They would automatically know what to do if you put them in with Jadee after dark. She would accet them too, Im sure. but Chick TV is the greatest so enjoy!!
The only thing is it is not dark,they have a heat lamp right over them and I was afraid that it the come out form under her they would not know enough to go back under her.They are almost two weeks old now and all of them age getting bigger and I`m afraid she won`t be able to keep them all warm.We still have at least two more months of really cold weather.

I was going to give it a try but then I heard the weather and Sunday the high here in the daytime is 0 so I guess I won`t chance it
