A few weeks ago I bagged some of the blooms that looked just about done. I used old nylons. Since then the petals have all come off but the heads have not opened. Do I leave them and keep waiting or do I pick them and let them dry while still bagged? Today I picked off one that I have not bagged but looked like it was opening. I squeezed it a little and the seeds came out. I have them drying on a paper plate right now. What are the chances that some of these seeds will be viable? Thank you. Robyn

It's better to leave the heads until they start to open, you'll get more viable seeds.
The one who started opening will almost certainly contain some viable seeds.

Thank you. I'm looking forward to having something grow from my seed. It's like becoming a grandmother again. LOL.
