CHOCOLATE BASIL 2012

Midland City, AL

Okay, your weird news story for the week. “Woman Marries Warehouse.” It is supposedly not like the woman who married the Eiffel tower. That was love. This was a marriage of convenience. This lady has a cause. It is supposed to be about gentrification, but I don’t quite get it. But, then, I had to look up “gentrification” so it’s probably me.
Maybe, Squatch could marry something to gain attention for the equal rights for mythical creatures cause. There has been a case of a woman marrying her truck so a highly publicized wedding of Squatch and T.O.D. jumped into my mind. It jumped right back out though. That would have to be a shotgun wedding and that is not the image the Association for the Defense of Mythical Plants and Creatures wants to project. ~N~

:)

I heard mjs married an ole Dodge

I think a definition should be posted when using big words like that, I had to go look it up too.

ummm, The ole Dodge is a girl....I like Men.

The only big furry critters the ole Dodge is partial to big horse's.....her beau lives here on the farm with her.

Sorry mjs.

Midland City, AL

I'm already married. I can't marry my beloved Dakota. But, we do have a car wash and detailing date coming u on the 13th. I'm taking my wife to the botanical garden on the 14th and there is a staff truck at the Dothan Botanical Garden that Dakota has a thing for. She wants to look her best and show off her Sasquatch for President bumper sticker.
The urban renewal vs. gentrification problem makes me glad I live in the sticks. (Jim)

LOL. Be sure and visit the Culinary Herb/Spice area on the 14th.
It is the sacred birthplace of Chocolate Basil.
I built the Pergola and Squatch built the raised beds.
Before we chose to move to Texas we had 86 Herbs/Spices growing there.
But be aware that Squatch will be lurking nearby to make sure that you do not discover the remaining orphaned baby CB plants AND that Ms. Dakota does not get too chummy with Mr. Staff truck. He kinda has a thing for Dodges and is very jealous. He really was infatuated with mjs's Ol Dodge but she was way too mean for such a sweet-sensitive guy like Squatch.

Where'd you live before Texas, Vort?

DeLand/Deleon Spring, FL(Zone 8b)

Ol Dodge is NOT mean...she's just very independent.......

Also wishes I'd learn how to grow more herbs besides, Purple Basil, Chocolate Mint ( ok I grow those side by side in hopes of a love affair there) and of course Rosemary grows here if even you didn't want it to. Which ok with me cause we use it alot.

As opposed to Ohio, where it grows lovely all summer, and covers itself with mildew and commits suicide slowly and unattractively every winter.

....and he doesn't eat grits! I bet they ran he and Squatch out of town when they discovered that. Does Squatch eat grits? .
At a Christmas party I went to, the hostess decorated her rosemary bush beside the front steps with timy blue lights. It was gorgeous! ~N~

I had grits for breakfast this morning. That's what suth'n folks eat--I was bawn in N'awlins.

POTTSBORO, TX(Zone 7b)

Heard of 'um but

"I just ain't never seen a grit"

But Chef Squatch has recently caused me to develop a more sophisticated taste for rattlesnake tar tare with a sides of scorpion fricassee, marinated tarantula and, of course, CB coated habaneros. Ummmmmm it don't get no better than that.

Columbus, OH

Vinegaroon poppers?

POTTSBORO, TX(Zone 7b)

Sounds good Celene but the tarantulas are marinated in vinegar.

Ozone, AR(Zone 6a)

VORT, You are uninformed darlin. Tarantulas have to be marinated in a top highclass rum for a week than put to smoke in a small ground hole wrapped in banana leaves.with palm wood for fuel.
You of course drink the rum which soaked the spiders.
Venus Flytrap and Kudzu salad is the best side dish.
Desert is Coffenberry pie from fresh picked coffenberrys found at any cemetary.
And NEVER bar-b-que them.

Thanks--Me and da chef. is still lernin.

Ozone, AR(Zone 6a)

DeLand/Deleon Spring, FL(Zone 8b)

Never too tired of shenanigans...........just burrowed under the blankets hiding for this &^*%^& ( bleeping) cold....I ( and the Ole Dodge) don't do cold.
