I have a Dawn Redwood, about 24 inches tall and at present in a large pot. should I bring the pot inside, to a very cool room for the winter? We are planning a new bed for the yard with the tree as the focal point, however because we get so much snow and cold here I want to protect it, until I can get it in it's new home.
Dawn Redwood Question
annabelle,
I would plant it in the ground now, even in a temporary location. Mulch it well and the snowcover will protect it.
Robb
Ditto to Robb, plant now.
Resin
You could the whole pot in the ground for the winter, and put it in a permanent spot next year.
