Whatever it is it's cool looking !!
Bolivian gloxinia..
Tropical Garden #114
Drew, I would question the i.d. of your plant, too - it looks like an Aloe arborescens to me. Agaves and Aloes grow everywhere in my area and none of the Agaves look like your plant. Perhaps you could post it on the Plant Identification forum for a positive i.d.
Martha, she is beautiful!
Debra I really like this one...lots more buds to open so should be a nice display. Was a rescue....had a lot of rot on the bulbs and I brought it home cleaned it up and now it's nice and healthy.
Hello Everyone!!
ardesia, thanks, if you are successful in propagating your Salvia involuctata, we could trade in the spring. The blue flowering salvia I showed can be started easily from root cuttings, unfortunately, I have had it for such a long time, I can't remember the name.
Euphorbia white ghost.
Joeswife, it is amazing how healthy you keep those plants in your basement, your macho fern is so pretty. I can also see the Queen Emma, is the tall plant in front an Abutilon?
This is a new fern, I hope someone knows the name. It is a beautiful plant and I would not want to lose it due to my ignorance regarding its care.
mjsponies, those are some bright festive pictures, they are all very full and beautiful plants!! I wish that I had something red to continue the color theme. I'm tapping my fingers waiting for something to bloom.
Congratulations in winning runner up in the photo contest!!

Rita, I have that unknown fern you posted, but it's in the greenhouse and it's DARK OUTSIDE and I'm afraid the boogie man will get me if I go out there! If no one gives you its name tonight, I'll tell you tomorrow.
Rita, Isn't that the same plant you have with the offsets(first picture) I have that is flowering in my post above yours?
That is a really
cool fern by the way!

Rita, your fern is Sellaginella 'Rainbow' aka Sellaginella martensii - now, you can try to remember to label it - LOL!
Deb, I tried to call you, but got no answer. I have a problem - I have moved your Christmas box up in size THREE times! Every time I start to tape it up to mail, I find something else to add to it. You just need to come here and PICK it UP in PERSON!!!
WOW, that yellow whatever is fabulous. Love that it is blooing this time of year.
Martha, you know we will all want a start of that!
I'm still waiting on your Clerodendrum cuttings to root -they have had nubbies for a couple of weeks, but no roots yet. When I see that they are for sure going to root, I'll send them to you.
Finally I have some interesting blooms to post, but they're not in my garden, sadly. Queen Elizabeth Botanical Gardens in Grand Cayman had all these in bloom when we walked through yesterday. Sadly their huge orchid garden there had no blooms at all, but I can hope we'll get to go back in May when they will be at their best.
Alice, does this look like the Begonia 'Alba Odora' that you sent me a cutting of? It certainly was a lovely scented white begonia, elegantly displayed over top of a low hedge.
One more, for Drew since he loves those big foliage plants! Some sort of fern, I think. Looks like a big Romaine lettuce until you scale it against the 12ft. tall column next to the pot.
Mj, your photo contest shot is absolutely spectacular! Congratulations. Love that yellow 'whatzit' as well. Very pretty.
btw, Drew I agree with the others that your pretty little flowering succulent (way back) doesn't look like an agave. Definitely more like an aloe to me, including the flower form.
Hopefully Cassie will chime back in with an ID on the yellow...it's still a single stem, so when I saw it budding up I was surprised, but definitely thrilled with the yellow bloom.
Dzzy, that is a Strickcardia or Hawaiian Sunset vine in your 2nd photo back...mine's budding up now to beat the band so will post pics then.
Thanks on the Photo Contest That's one of my favorite photo's..
That is a yellow baleria. Easy to share. the lower branches or roots will drop spread out and take root kind of like a walking iris. Mine are flowering now too I just noticed yesterday.
Cassie,
Thanks...I think this is it in plantfiles ?? But does it get thorns ?

Barleria prionitis is the botanical name of the yellow Baleria, but I couldn't find any place that sells it, so would like to trade for some starts.
Cassie, that's good to hear about the thorns. I always worry about grandson and animals with the thorny ones.
Maybe it has to get really big to get the thorns ?

Osmanthus is another new one to me does it have fragrance ?
