In our office we each make out a christmas list of wants, don't wants, likes, dislikes, etc, and then we draw someone's list and buy them a gift for the gift exchange. Our limit is $40. I want to put some gardening stuff on mine, but I have no idea what! I'm so new at this that I don't have any ideas. So, I need your help. What garden tool, gadget, decoration or whatever do you really like and would love to get as a gift?
Joan
Need Christmas list help
Joan, Plant markers for sure!!!!!!! sue
I know a lot of people dislike giving/getting gift certificates, but I think a certificate for a local garden center is a great gift. To me, it's the gift of SHOPPING and picking out my babies! :O) (Hint, hint, DH)
Oh, or a DG coffee mug! (Again, hint, hint, DH)

Thank you all for the suggestions. I now have many things to add to my Christmas list. Does anyone know if a non-member of this site can order the mugs and shirts for gifts? My dh isn't a member, but those are some things I would like to put on my list for him to get me.
Joan

Oh Nana! You are just too sweet. I'll put your email addy and message beside the items when I give him my list. He's already familiar with you, remember? He saw a license plate that said Nana and was ready to bring them home! LOL
You're a sweetie.
Joan
How about a good garden reference book? They can be expensive, or not so much. I have a number of different types, and two 14 volume gardening encyclopedia, but never get enough. Rodales is a good place to start, or a local book store, and you will develop a permanent list because no matter which ones you get, there are always more you crave. Come to think of it, a subscription to Rodale's is great for beginners and old hands alike. ( Kids, are you listening?)
Aimee:
A subscription to Rodales? Please tell me more! I'm intrigued. I've heard of Rodales, but didn't know they had a subscription thing. Is it like a magazine or email? Email is great, 'cuz they're free! Magazine is great too, as I need things for a christmas list. LOL
Joan
www.organicgardening.com is where you want to go. Be warned, you will find more than you ever expected at Rodale's. They publish magazines, hardback books, little pamphlets on such things as using plants to fight pests, just more than you could ever hope to own. When you go to this site, get comfortable and plan to stay awhile.
Thank you Aimee. I'm off, hot tea in hand and willing to wile away the night. (I don't have to work tomorrow).
