this type of spider i have seen for the first time. even the zigzag pattern (can be noticed from the image) of its web is totally new to me. don't know if its poisonous. generally such bright colors are indication of poison. in nature, its a way of sending out 'taboo' or 'don't dare to eat me' signal to other birds of prey or lizards.
can anyone please identify this spider?

Hi Bharat,
Technically, all spiders are poisonous, in that they are capable of delivering poison. Some are just more poisonous and/or aggressive than others.
What you have appears to be a beneficial and harmless orb weaver spider of the Gea species, which can be found in India.
Nice photo! You may want to submit it to http://www.buggguide.net for logging.

I don't think this is a Gea species. It looks very like a relative of the Australian St. Andrew's Cross Spider Argiope keyserlingii. I think yours is probably Argiope anasuja: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argiope_anasuja
I have created an entry for it in BugFiles and you could add your image to this page: http://davesgarden.com/guides/bf/go/6737/

thanks Ken. I have uploaded an image.
just for my information, if I have a video clip, can it be uploaded too? if so, what are the common rules? can you guide me?
We don't have a place for videos, unfortunately. :-(
Hello Bharat,
I just at another picture of a spider that make zigzag. It looks another kind as yours. You found out already about it? Mine was found in 120 north of Delhi.
