spotted this in my garden with a nice healthy nest. The wife wont go back to the garden until i find out what it is and if i need to get rid of it... (sorry the quality is not great. let me know if you need a better pic)

Cobweb spider, Steatoda sp. - possibly a darker than usual S. nobilis - http://www.flickr.com/photos/thekrankis/4907510581/ - Bite painful but not dangerous.
