It was about the size of a nickel (leg width) and it also had orange on its underside in a 'blotch' that can't really be described.
The pattern on its back has 2 very visible black dots, both of which are dented into its back (see the shine of the sun glaring around it) the pattern almost looks like the shape of the Transformers logo (lol)
Located in Ontario, Canada.

CLOSED: ID please:A glossy black spider with orange pattern/blotches
Anyone? I'm very curious, I've been doing a bunch of searches and I can't find anything similar in the least, the closest thing is a Black Widow.
i believe it is in the same family, theridiidae
i've heard it called a barn spider, ... they are timid, slow, and harmless
Looking up barn spider, I've seen these around my backyard before, they actually get fairly large in comparison to your typical house spider (and are incredibly fun to watch when you throw a fly in their web)
Is it possible that this is one of those spiders but just not near fully developed yet?

Barn spiders are orb weavers in genus Araneus.
Thank you very much :)
