Umbrella plant (Schefflera aboricola)

Durham, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

my umbrella plant needs a prune as its getting a bit leggy and has shed a few leaves, i was wondering if theres any way to propagate these cuttings? it would be a shame to waste them and if i could get more plants for free then that would be great!

thanks Dave, i'll try the cuttings out and let you know how i get on. now i just need to be brave and cut the top off.. it's about 7ft tall!

Edgewater, FL(Zone 9a)

I have one that is planted inside my swimming pool screen encloser. It grows so fast I have to cut it back a couple times a year. When I cut it back I take each limb, wet the end, dip in root hormone and stick it in the ground. Keep moist. I have these all over my yard.

The plant will branch out where you cut it back. This will make the plant fuller. Don't be afraid to trim it up.
