It's lemon yellow, about 1 1/2 inches long, shaggier than a wooleyworm, does not roll up in a ball like they do but is happy crawling all over my hands. Along it's back there are 2 pairs of longer black hairs (or maybe groups of hairs) sticking straight up, one on each side of the mid line and forward of half way between head and tail ends, and one mid line near the rear. Black legs and feet, black head. What is it? Good or bad? I never saw one until yesterday, and now here is another one.
CLOSED: Id needed on yellow caterpillar
Generally speaking, cats with hairs on them should not be handled as they cause skin irritation. Anyway, I think you have an American Dagger Moth, Acronicta americana. It looks like some roll and some don't.
