CLOSED: Caterpillar identification

Chatham, Canada

I've been trying to identify this caterpillar. The closest I can get is Tomato Hornworm, or Tobacco Hornworm, but neither of those are quite like this one.
It is about 4 inches long, and as big around as an adult's little finger. I found him on the ground, so can't say what plant it may frequent.
Also it was almost dark so I couldn't get the best pictures of it.
Located in Southwestern Ontario, Canada

Any help would be appreciated.

I wish I could help Loris, it's beautifully colored-I've never seen a hornworm like it! I can give you a link to a few places that can help,
if someone doesn't know here. Besides, I looked through their gallery, and they not only can identify for you, but really NEED this
photo to be submitted by you! :) Here's the firswt one for submission:

Here's where they'll identify. You'll need to join, for free.

Meanwhile, I'm going to watch this thread-that is a real beauty! I hope someone tells you-and I really hope you at least submit it to the gallery
in the first link. They help a lot of people find out what their butterflies and moths are :)

Well, that was fast!
Thanks to your link to butterfliesandmoths.org I found him on page 5 of the caterpillar images section.
It is a Great ash sphynx moth larva.

Thanks again for the great help!
